In connection with the quality problems of the roadstate monitoring data of automatic weather stations from August 2009 to July 2010, the methods for controlling the quality of meteorological monitoring data on expressway surface state are discussed. Results show that the techniques for checking allowable values, state consistency, spatial consistency, and integrity, as well as manual identification, can be used for data quality controlling of expressway surface state. These methods, to some extent, suffice the needs of traffic weather services and scientific research.
